There truly is no 'I' in Team.....

     Middle Park Camp

As we complete the take-down of the 2016 Middle Park Camp I must admit I am trying to figure out where the summer has gone.  (Normally in Wales it is on a Tuesday) (Kidding) More importantly how everything was setup, used, taken down and stored with such precision.  I can only attribute that to the remarkable team that has grown over the past 9 years of summer camp here in Middle Park now under the leadership of Howell & Nita Hodgett.   Not only was the Wales National MP3 camp held, but new to our calendar the Sporting Marvels group from the Rhonda Valley, the Farmers Community Network
prayer meeting and a wedding.  Most work was completed this year by not only our regular volunteers but also a concerted effort by a group of local farmers who have adopted the camp and see its value in the local Christian community.  I must admit that as I washed the dishes for the MP3 camp and facilitated program events for the Sporting Marvels camp, I could see that this was no longer a camp that was dependent on a few, but more of a community project..  This brings peace to my soul as I

know now that the work is established and has a future here in Welshpool.

We are currently involved in discussions with the Powis Estate to bring permanent power to the site.  This would allow year round use of the buildings we have been developing since 2012 and see the employment of a year round camp manager as the volume of use increases.  Please pray for wisdom as the TENT board explores various ways of raising the money necessary for
this next plateau of camp expansion.

I can only say that over the past 9 months we have experienced somewhat of a snowball effect in regards to our Youth Mission Project trips and the new Hebner Innovative Solutions team.  As many of you know we placed 2 containers down in April last year to provide temporary housing at the Little Rose creche in Kliptown SA.  Since that time many corporate sponsors have invested in the site raising a staggering £100,000.00 this year that has been invested into the lives of the 125 children in the community.  Just before my return for summer camping,
I had the privilege of seeing the first of 3 buildings dedicated, creating a staggering 630m2 of new space for the charity.
We still need to raise another £5,000.00 to paint and secure the final of the buildings for use.  But the spaces are warm and dry and for the most part lit.  We can now see this model is gaining traction not only in South Africa, but in Kenya, Gambia, Zambia and beyond.  Please pray for wisdom as we now try to use locals in the community as full time staff.  Lifting them from poverty and giving them long term employment doing humanitarian work and low cost housing projects for the poor...

New library and office centre

I will be returning to South Africa via Gambia in August to develop several more community structures and hopefully present a large scale residential option to venture capitalist that will not only help the poor, but do it in such a way that it is self sustaining and not needing government intervention.  Again I covet your prayers for wisdom...

New Creche built entirely by South African Workers

I am so proud of the local team that constructed this building and another bathroom block in 1 week!  It shows that with a little education we can still 'teach a man to fish'...
