The Opposite of Insanity
The moment my blog
went out stating that ‘insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a
different result’, I was chastised by a few that this in fact is not the real
definition. Instead it is the inability
to identify right from wrong. But my
question is what is the opposite of insanity?
Opposite.com has stated that; Clearness, good sense, lucidity,
rationality and sanity are the correct translation. Oh to live in a world that is not
insane. Recently a picture of the school
we built popped up on Facebook.
Valencia, the woman in charge of the facility has gone from strength to
strength feeding up to 1000 people a day from the humble collection of shipping
placed there by a group of teenagers. I
am proud to be associated with this school, I am proud of the work accomplished
by the youth, and I am proud at the way this simple project has changed the
lives of teens in the UK and in Canada.
It is nice to work against a little insanity now and then for the glory of the Lord.

Middle Park Starting to Settle In
2013 summer season saw nearly 550 youth
through the camp as we settled into the new barn, road extension, new docks, blob
tower and inflatable buildings. This
year we are expecting more young people that ever before. But in order to give the young people from
Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, the best week of their lives, we are making some
basic modifications to make their camping experience even better within our
means. New for 2014 the Ice cream shop
and store will be moved into the barn.
As well a new office area dry and secure away from the campers will be
put in the new loft that will serve during the off season as storage for our
valuable bulk perishables such as sleeping bags and air beds. The stage will get a facelift with a new
curtain, and internal movable walls allowing the club room to offer more
versatility for the larger camps expected this summer. Add a new underground 25mm electric cable to
the residential field, and a completely buried city main water supply with a
20000 l water pillow storage tank and the camp is moving to the next level as
we clean up the infrastructure that is evolving. My
family joined me to drive to Sardinia to pick up a donated bungee assisted
trampoline system that will offer a new dry entertainment option, and YLI is
providing an on lake climbing wall to diversify the activities there.
Why do we do this? Like every year before, it is not what we do,
but how we do it that demonstrates the Love of God in action. We want kids to have the best week of their
lives and within our means we will give youth to hear the gospel in a safe
relevant and amazing environment.
Please pray for me as I spend the majority
of the next few months sleeping in the barn in order to facilitate the work
needed for this summer. And if anyone
would like to help support putting in more infrastructure please feel free to
do so via the Trinity Baptist Legacy Foundation. We have so much more we would like to do, but
we will not over extend on our budget, nor
will we charge youth more than necessary to provide this camp so youth
are not hindered by the cost to come.
