Finishing Off 2012 Camp Expansion

I have grown accustom to spending a great deal of time setting up the annual camps for YL and Urban Saints.  This year things have moved to a new level.  Setup, with camp, will be in total 2.5 months, as we are moving the camp to a new location in the middle of the property in Welshpool.

CAMP BUILD: Taking over the old mixing hole, Powis Middle Park camp is getting one step closer to becoming permanent as we now are leasing some land from the estate and have permission to put in basic infrastructure.  For 2012 Water, sewage, electric and storage are now finding homes in this picturesque surrounding.  A new fold out kitchen, Dish room, and walk in fridge will replace the well used trailer we have had for the past 4 years.  And a new to us 12m x 30m dining tent with a floor will become home for our larger capacity groups.  (Camp layout at bottom of post)
CAMPERS & STAFF: Scotland and Ireland will be the first solely YL group to use the site this summer with 175 people signed up.  This will be supported by 47 Youth from Arizona who are spending their summer here to take the camp out of storage and to be the first service crew...  The fun begins July 2nd as the first of 3 teams arrives to support SPREE a weekend camp in Llanelli with 800+ youth .  In total this year we will have in excess of 1200 young people attend camps. 

We are doing all we can to make these facilities line up with our motto that this will be the best week of their lives.  WHY.  To demonstrate the love of Jesus in a real and tangible way to the many youth that have never experienced unconditional love.  I covet your prayers for our transition from ‘the little camp that could’ to more of a resource to our growing number of leaders and staff, who long to have youth hear the good news in their context...

Thoughout this year the only thing constant is change, the one thing that never  changes is our goal to remain faithful to Christ and continue to do our part to build His kingdom either physically or spiritually.  Whether that is; continuing on with the YMP trips, building schools and orphanages through Hope for the Nations and Rainbow FM, creating affordable gated housing in South Africa via the new venture of CHS (Container Housing Solutions)  or even returning to Middle Park to keep the camp moving forward our focus is the same.   WE are HIS workmanship created to do good works IN Christ.  WE all have one life to live and WE all will continue to have an audience of only one that really matters, now and forever.  My prayer is that WE all continue to think about our time on earth here in that light…. As many of you are aware, we a re in transition.  What d oes that mean for a family of 5 now residing on 3 continents… No matter what we do it is going to be a long way home

There truly is no 'I' in Team.....

     Middle Park Camp      As we complete the take-down of the 2016 Middle Park Camp I must admit I am trying to figure out where the summer has gone.  (Normally in Wales it is on a Tuesday) (Kidding) More importantly how everything was setup, used, taken down and stored with such precision.  I can only attribute that to the remarkable team that has grown over the past 9 years of summer camp here in Middle Park now under the leadership of Howell & Nita Hodgett.   Not only was the Wales National MP3 camp held, but new to our calendar the Sporting Marvels group from the Rhonda Valley, the Farmers Community Network prayer meeting and a wedding.  Most work was completed this year by not only our regular volunteers but also a concerted effort by a group of local farmers who have adopted the camp and see its value in the local Christian community.  I must admit that as I washed the dishes for the MP3 camp and facilitated program events for the Sporting Marvels camp, I could se

Happy new year…!
