SPREE Wales

Week long camps are a luxury for many volunteer led groups as time off from work is difficult, but a weekend camp can also have the same significant effect on the lives of young people. Over 400 young people along with 200 leaders and volunteers will be part of SPREE Wales this year in Llanelli South Wales. Most of the same toys are transported to the event so the youth have the best weekend of their lives inside of a Welsh context. The 3 venues are geared towards the needs of specific youth allow leaders to ‘flex’ in their approach with the youth they bring to camp.

Recently I was challenged that youth ministry is a great deal like sushi. It is only relevant on the day cut a specific way in a specific context. If you leave it too long, or mass produce it, it stinks. This year I will be running 4 young life style clubs July 1 to 3 to present the gospel in such a way as to allow leaders to youth process the message with their teens. Please pray that I keep the messages ‘fresh’.

Thoughout this year the only thing constant is change, the one thing that never  changes is our goal to remain faithful to Christ and continue to do our part to build His kingdom either physically or spiritually.  Whether that is; continuing on with the YMP trips, building schools and orphanages through Hope for the Nations and Rainbow FM, creating affordable gated housing in South Africa via the new venture of CHS (Container Housing Solutions)  or even returning to Middle Park to keep the camp moving forward our focus is the same.   WE are HIS workmanship created to do good works IN Christ.  WE all have one life to live and WE all will continue to have an audience of only one that really matters, now and forever.  My prayer is that WE all continue to think about our time on earth here in that light…. There truly is no 'I' in Team.....

     Middle Park Camp      As we complete the take-down of the 2016 Middle Park Camp I must admit I am trying to figure out where the summer has gone.  (Normally in Wales it is on a Tuesday) (Kidding) More importantly how everything was setup, used, taken down and stored with such precision.  I can only attribute that to the remarkable team that has grown over the past 9 years of summer camp here in Middle Park now under the leadership of Howell & Nita Hodgett.   Not only was the Wales National MP3 camp held, but new to our calendar the Sporting Marvels group from the Rhonda Valley, the Farmers Community Network prayer meeting and a wedding.  Most work was completed this year by not only our regular volunteers but also a concerted effort by a group of local farmers who have adopted the camp and see its value in the local Christian community.  I must admit that as I washed the dishes for the MP3 camp and facilitated program events for the Sporting Marvels camp, I could se

Happy new year…!
