Tour with a Difference

Image
I always stand amazed at the privilege it is to do the things that I do... April 11 to 27 was no exception, having 83 young people and adults travel to Johannesburg SA to; • Feed the poor • Build relief housing • Attend Super 15 Rugby in Loftus Park • Play the Blue Bull’s from Pretoria • AND here the good news of Jesus Christ. (see video & photo galleries) Jesus said that He came that we might have life, and have it abundantly. This April was a season of abundance for all those who attended. And NO, it was not easy, it was hard. Sleeping in camping facilities with cold showers, sometimes in the rain, mixing concrete by hand, filling in a 250m long trench and putting in 12 hour days... But the group LOVED it.. why.. They were building memories, living life and doing so much more than existing. Jim Rayburn used to say. “It is a sin to bore a kid with the gospel”. Often I believe that we have taken this saying out of context, focusing on creating ‘fun’. I believe it is n

Over the Hill?

Image
YES. Thanks to the donations from partners in Canada and the USA, we will have a chance after 4 years to finally move over the hill and set the camp in Middle Park. The property will not be ‘finished’ like most of my friends would understand a YL property to be like. But it will be functional. It will not be ‘polished’, but it will be presentable, it won’t be elaborate, but it will set a standard for excellence in camping under canvas. AND it won’t be expensive, but be remarkably easy to attend as are many of the youth we work with are from middle to lower middle class families. Younglife is about presenting the gospel to youth in their world... Wales is not England, it is a rural hard working culture that needs Jesus incarnationally..

The work continues to grow

In the past 4 years the scope and the depth of the YL work in Wales continues to grow.   Thank you for making this work possible by freeing up resources to allow full time staff supervision, mission trips, camp development and time to be with kids.   2010 saw $32,000.00 of support come from Canada and the USA.   These resources have been distributed to start new works and provide infrastructure for the growing work... I can not say thank you enough for the difference you are making in this world..       In Canada Make cheques payable to: Trinity Foundation - 1905 Springfield Rd, Kelowna BC, V1Y 7V7 Please note account on cheque: YL27 Online: Canada helps - KELOWNA TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH LEGACY FOUNDATION http://www.canadahelps.org/CharityProfilePage.aspx?CharityID=s92672 Please note account on note field: YL27
